Praying With GiantsDo you ever wish you could pray more effectively? Pray with more passion, intelligence and perseverance? One of the best approaches to this key discipline of the Christian life is to listen to the prayers of others. That's what we're doing on Sunday evenings this term (January - March 2013). The Bible records some of the greatest prayers ever prayed. And we are going to be able to hear some of them. Prayers born in despair, faith, hope, confusion but above all trust. For at the heart of true prayer is a relationship defined by trust. Trust that in the activity of talking to God we are not engaged in a meaningless but a mysterious process. I don't know how it is that a sovereign God incorporates the heavenward conversations, aspirations and struggles of humanity into His will. But I do know that He invites us to know Him in and through prayer. For in this great exchange, prayer changes us as well as things. In Tennyson's words, "more things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of." Do you want to dream big? Then pray big! All Services in this series:
