Today is 'Vision Sunday'

The challenge of the Church in every generation is to serve the community and the world with the good news of Christ. Our motto verse this year makes that clear – we need to “act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with our God.” In the current national debate about how we create and deliver a better society, the Church is in a unique position to influence the outcome and direction in which we’re travelling. We can do that by encouraging everyone who attends Highfields to see their work place, market place, street and neighbourhood as the context for their mission. And we can achieve that by a passionate vision for training and sending workers into the harvest fields of Wales and the world.

The rest of the presentation looks at how we plan to: reach out with the gospel; build up God’s people in their knowledge and love of Jesus; equip ourselves to better serve him and finally to send people into the harvest field with the good news of Jesus.

Let’s pray that as we think and pray through this vision we will be of one mind, spirit and purpose, not only living lives worthy of the Gospel but working together side by side for the faith of the gospel.
